Este absolvent al Facultăţii de Drept a Universităţii „Babeș-Bolyai”, Cluj-Napoca și profesor universitar la aceeași facultate (la disciplinele Drept civil și Dreptul comerţului internaţional), cu experienţă în domeniul juridic ca și consilier juridic, judecător și apoi notar public.
În anul 2009 și-a susţinut doctoratul în drept. Este autorul a numeroase articole și al următoarelor cărţi: Conformitatea lucrului vândut, Universul Juridic, București, 2010, Rezoluţiunea și rezilierea în Noul Cod Civil, Universul Juridic, București, 2012, Tratat elementar de drept civil. Obligaţiile, Universul Juridic, București, 2012 (coautor, alături de Liviu Pop, Stelian-Ioan Vidu).
